Today’s science estimates that 90% of our brain’s activity is unconscious.
Meaning that 90% of the time, when we think we are acting out of free will and making our own decisions,
we are actually reacting from our subconscious/unconscious part of ourselves.
As Jung said:
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
The hypnotic state is a feeling of deep relaxation while being aware of all the surroundings and having full control over your body, your mind and your choices.
Most people are not aware that all of us, relax ourselves into a
self-hypnotic state every day, through out the day.
The hypnotic trance-like state feels similar to what you experience while driving, reading a book, watching a movie or daydreaming. These are all states of trance characterized with focused attention.
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness, not a loss of consciousness. In fact, hypnosis is characterized by a level of increased awareness.
Hypnosis is used to bring the participant to a deep expanded state of self-consciousness in which ego, filters, and the analytic mind no longer dominate perception.
Think about it as being fully awake while having a vivid dream.
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, which means that you must be willing to be hypnotized in order for hypnosis to occur.
